Lysaght Credit Union was established in 1966 by employees of John Lysaght Australia Ltd. By June 1968 Lysaght Credit Unions membership had reached almost half of the employees on the Company’s payroll. Membership is open to Bluescope Steel & Lysaght employees and subsidiaries, associated contractors, family and friends and members of the public. Lysaght Credit Union Limited offers various financial solutions to its members. The credit union offers loans such as personal loans, home loans and motor vehicle loans. Moreover it also offers various types of accounts such as saving accounts, deeming account, business account, fixed term deposit account ,under 18 term deposit account and special purpose Christmas club account. In addition it also offers Visa debit card, MasterCard cash passport, traveler’s cheques and international money transfers. Internet and mobile banking services are also provided to members. Financial planning is also provided through Bridges. In 2013 Lysaght Credit Union introduced a new logo and brand. The new logo was designed to reflect its long standing relationship with the employees of Bluescope Steel and Lysaght. The idea of a house with a corrugated roof represents Bluescope steel and the house symbolizes a strong family bond.
