Fire Service Credit Union Limited (FSCU) began in 1972 as a way for firefighters to help each other financially. That original purpose – firefighters helping each other – has changed very little over the years. Today, membership is still restricted to Emergency Services personnel and their families, meaning your job gives you special access to a unique way of banking. FSCU is one of the few 'closed bond' credit unions left in Australia and the only one left in SA. With membership restricted to Emergency Services personnel and their families, they can focus just on the needs of you and your family. Even today the Credit Union is still run by firefighters. The majority of the Board of Directors, including the Chairman, are operational firefighters elected by you, the members. Main products and services include Loans (home, car and personal), Overdraft, Savings Account, Term Deposit, Insurance (home, travel, car, landlords, boat, caravan and trailer), Debit Cards and Financial Planning. Your share gives you those voting entitlements, as a part owner. FSCU's role as part of the Fire Service Family enables it to support a number of Fire Service community organizations who in turn contribute to the well-being of our members.
