The company has it’s headquarters in Sydney and employs around 1,700 staff across the country. It is a subsidiary of US-based Citigroup Inc and started its operations in 1975. Previously it was known as Citibank Pty and later its name was changes to Citigroup Pty Limited in December 2005. Citigroup operates in the Australian financial service industry and its business is divided into two main divisions: Global Consumer Group – This group consist of Citibank and Diners Club brands combined offering consumer banking services, including transaction and saving accounts, foreign currency deposits, investments, credit and debit cards, mortgages and insurance products. The group has 13 branches across Australia and also offers its services through its website and telephone. Institutional Clients Group – This group offers investment and banking services to corporate, government and other financial investments worldwide.
